Since I become a Beauty Blogger, I never have never been a proper makeup workshop! I got to thanks Kenny (MUA), founder of Makeup Miracle Malaysia for the invite to this workshop! In the blogpost I will be covering the overall event flow and also some tips and tricks on ‘How To Do a Smokey Eyes Makeup’.
Let’s get started!
On the workshop day, I feels like want to reach the venue early to clarify all the items and also the makeup setup before the workshop start. When I reach the workshop there are few people there only so I get to capture the environment before crowded by people lol.
So Kenny was assist me to my table to do a simple setup before the workshop start. It’s kinda excited to learn something new and professional from Kenny. There is some special products features from Lancôme too!
I am been informed to bring some simple cosmetics and tool (eg. travel makeup bag) there. So here you go! My table setup! lol
I know it’s not suppose to bring so much of brush and lipstick but… I am sorry, I can’t live without them lol!!
After a short time of waiting, the people is here, the event is started.
First he is sharing his thought of Smokey Eyes Makeup continue with the Skin Types Analysis.
Using Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum for the skincare before we apply primer and makeup. The Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum to boosts youthful radiance and restoring smoother skin texture. Kenny did mention you may apply the serum and there will be more radiant skin you can see and feel in as little as 7 days! *Honestly, this is so amazing!*
But one thing I realised on the application, I prefer apply before makeup. It’s not good to apply serum of liquid form after powder makeup except setting spray/rose water.
After skincare, let’s move on to eye makeup.
Prime Your Eyes
Always prime your eyes to before we apply any eye makeup.
Brow Bone Highlight
Always use the light eyeshadow tone on your eye makeup first. Using a clean brush and highlight the brow bone.
Soft Blend Mid Tone on Your Eyelid
Using the mid tone (eg. coffee brown) to do a soft blend as a base color on your eyelid.
Apply Dark Tone
You might need to use a tapped brush/angle brush to apply a layer of dark tone but not on the whole eyelid yet close to your lashes.
Blend Out the Edges I (Swirling Circular Motion)
Using peachy tone with little circular swirls quickly. Start from outer corner and work your way inwards to blend and smoothen the harsh line between the light and dark tone.
Blend Out the Edges II (Windshield Wiper Motion)
Place your clean blending brush on the line, and blend it start from outer corner of your lid, move the blending brush in a windshield wiper motion. *Left-right-left-right*
Moving as the curve of your eyeshadow.
Using gel liner and flat brush to apply the black liner on the top waterline. After that, draw on the roots of the lashes, and sliding outward corner with pivot facing downward. *Optional to draw a wing liner*
At the beginning, I’ve talk about the special product feature, one of it is the Lancôme Grandiôse Liner. With their exclusive technology, Lancôme Grandiôse Liner has create 35 degree bendable wand with their very own smudge-proof intense black matte pigment film on water based formula.Picture below are showing Kenny was demo us the correct way of holding and using this ‘magic wand’.
Curl & Apply Mascara
Comes to another new product from Lancôme, which is the Grandiôse Extrême Mascara. The Swan Neck™ Wand can provide exceptional length, lift, and volume to all lashes. The ergonomic curve of the wand allows for precise & effortless application of every lash root to tip.Picture below are showing Kenny was demo us the correct way of he holding the ‘sexy mascara’.
Before we proceed to draw our eyebrows, Kenny did mention a little bit on the technique of having a perfect eyebrows for different face shape.
Always draw the outline first. From the end of your eyebrows, create a triangle shape and blend forward to the head of your brows. Slowly fill the tone between the eyebrows hair to fill the gap.
Using finger or shadow brush starting from the brows draw two lines down the side of your nose. Using fluffy brush to blend the lines around the edges.
Black Eyeshadow (FINAL TOUCH-UP)
Using black eyeshadow and tap on the roots of the eyelashes.
Brown Eyeshadow to Blend
And using the brush and medium brown tone to soften a little bit of the edges.
And that is all done!!!!!!!
